Possible Time Issues in Canvas Quizzes

Canvas time window opens from 9 am to 12 pm, including 30 min. flex time. If authentication takes 15 min. at 9, their 2.5 hours puts them halfway into the flex time at end of window. They get 15 min. more due to flex time, but they're cut off due to the window closing at 12 pm.

Canvas availability windows work differently than those in eCampus. Instead of the time window being a start window, in Canvas, the time window is absolute and overrides all other settings.

Using Categories in New Quizzes

Set initial Categorization settings, then press the Build button at the bottom-right.

Canvas offers a variety of tools to support creative teaching practices in online and face-to-face courses. New Quizzes is no exception, offering four novel question types, Hotspot, Ordering, Stimulus, and Categorization, to move assessment beyond multiple choice questions.

Categorization questions are a great way to engage students with the material and creatively measure their understanding.
